How to Love God: 12 Bible Verses Of What It Means To Love God

When we are looking for answers or want to know something about God, the bible is where to find those answers. The first and greatest commandment of all is ‘to love God with your whole heart.’

Matthew 22

37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

38 This is the first and great commandment.

You can’t love God just by saying it. You can’t love God with words, or thoughts or beliefs or with emotions.

With that being said, there are multiple bible scriptures in the old and new testament that tell us how to love God and, the truth is, they all say the same thing.

Here they are:

2. 1 John 5

3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

3. Deuteronomy 11

5 But take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law, which Moses the servant of the LORD charged you, to love the LORD your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to cleave unto him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.

7. Nehemiah 1
