Bible Scriptures: Deuteronomy 14:8 – What Does The Bible Say About Eating Pork?

And the pig, because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the cud, it is unclean unto you

A lot of us probably have family and friends that wonder about what does the bible say about eating pork. We’ve all heard what was, at first, a rumor that we shouldn’t eat pork. Well if you want to know the truth you can look to the bible.

And the swine, because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the cud, it is unclean unto you: ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcase. – Deuteronomy 14:8 (KJV)

God laid out a law and commandment letting us know that the pig (swine) was unclean because it does not chew the cud. Actually, a pig is more like the earth’s garbage disposal which can eat just about anything including poisonous, venomous snakes and even human remains. Pigs literally carry numerous types of parasites. No wonder the ‘Most High’ warned us about the swine.
